Our midwife Jessie Moy holds weekly antenatal clinics on a Wednesday afternoon. If you have a positive pregnancy test, please ask at reception for further information regarding your first visit appointment and how to obtain your Pregnancy Information Pack.

The surgery runs various types of clinics such as;
Baby/Child Immunisation Clinic
Our practice nurses are able to see your children from newborn to two years of age to administer immunisations.
We recommend full immunisation for all pre-school children commencing at 2 months. The vaccination schedule can be found by clicking here.
Community Psychiatric Nurse Clinic
Our CPN holds clinics here at The Birches on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and can offer advice and support with a range of mental health issues. A referral is needed from a clinician, so please discuss this in your consultation if you would like to know more about gaining access to this service.
Chronic Disease Management Clinics
Our practice nurse has received additional training to undertake the monitoring of chronic disease management such as; Diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease, Asthma COPD and Stroke
As part of these clinics she can offer lifestyle advice and health promotion.
Cervical Smears
All women aged 25 to 65 are invited to attend for a cervical smear. From 25 years to 49 years women are invited to attend every 3 years and from 50 years to 64 years women are invited to attend every 5 years. It is recommended to attend when invited.
Please do not book smear tests unless you have had a written request to do so. If you are over 64 years or believe you may need a test in between routine screening dates please make an appointment to see a nurse practitioner or gp.
Practice Healthcare Assistant Services
We have two healthcare assistants who are trained in phlebotomy (taking blood samples) and various other health checks.
Please be aware we have a limited number of blood test appointments available, if you are unable to book a blood test at the surgery phlebotomy services are also available at the phlebotomy clinic on landseer road and at ipswich hospital.
